Christmas Parade

Over fifteen years ago, the members of the Jones Creek Area Business Association decided to offer an outreach event in the community that would be wholesome fun for all!  Thus was 'born' the Jones Creek Business Association's (JCABA) Annual Christmas Parade.

The original 'parade' idea started out being done on July 4th, but it was so hot and steamy that this date was used only once and then it was decided to go with a winter event.  The following year, the Christmas Parade idea was founded!

The parade has always run the full length of Jones Creek Road (except for 2010 when we had to modify this because of road construction on the northern end of Jones Creek Road). In 2013, for the first time ever, the parade was cancelled due to severe weather.  The parade did not occur during 2015 and 2016 due to the southern end of Jones Creek Road being under construction.  The construction completed in 2017, and we had a long awaited Christmas Parade in December of 2017.

Several years ago it was decided to have a special guest other than Santa Claus and so the idea of a Grand Marshall was instituted. Over the years we have had Fred Raiford, when he was Head of Dept. of Public Works, Whitney Vann with Channel 2, Steve Caporatta - Meteorologist with Channel 9, Paul Gates with Channel 9, Sam Crifasi, Owner of Hi Neighbor - 2nd business to be located on Jones Creek, and LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri, to name a few.

The Christmas Parade will be suspended for 2018 and will return in 2019.  This will give the organization time to better evaluate the additional unexpected expenses we incurred in 2018 and to work on our membership for 2019, to better support this great activity.  If you have interest in the Christmas Parade, let us know now and join the Jones Creek Area Business Association in 2019.
